Key Care & Features:
Behavior: Highly specialized, laterally compressed cave-dwellers. While they are ambush predators in nature, they are generally peaceful toward fish too large to fit in their mouths, making them excellent community fish for Tanganyikan tanks.
Diet: Carnivorous. They excel on a diet of high-quality protein, including frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, krill, and specialized cichlid pellets.
Tank Requirements: Minimum 30–40 gallons for an individual or pair. Provide plenty of vertical rockwork, caves, or large shells to simulate their natural environment.
