Care Guidelines
Diet: Omnivorous with a need for a balanced diet. In the aquarium, they thrive on high-quality cichlid flakes, color-enhancing pellets, spirulina, and regular treats of frozen foods like mysis or brine shrimp.
Aquarium Decor: Provide a spacious tank with a fine sandy substrate and plenty of rockwork piled securely along the back and sides to create caves, while leaving the entire front and upper water columns open for swimming.
Tankmates: They are excellent candidates for a large, mixed Malawi Hap and Peacock community. They can hold their own with most robust species but should not be housed with overly aggressive Mbuna or fish small enough to be eaten.
