Commonly known as the Lemon Cichlid, this particular “Super Orange” line is selectively bred and highly prized for its deeply saturated, uniform orange coloration and elongated, sleek profile.
Key Care & Features:
Behavior: Active, curious cave-dwellers that spend their time darting through rock crevices. While territorial around their chosen caves, they make wonderful, energetic additions to a mixed Tanganyikan community aquarium.
Diet: Omnivorous with a preference for small invertebrates. They thrive on premium flakes, pellets, and frozen foods like brine shrimp and cyclops, which help maintain their brilliant orange coloration.
Tank Requirements: Minimum 20–30 gallons for a pair. Requires hard, alkaline water ($\text{pH } 8.0 – 9.0$) and a layout rich in caves, stacked rocks, and sandy open areas.
